How does Cartridge Heaters work?

The heater has a ceramic core covered by a resistance coil. The core is placed in a metal sheath. The heat caused upon receiving power leads the sheath to heat up. Cartridge heaters can work at different densities, be it low, medium, or high watt. The ideal temperature depends on the kind of application that it is used for. The heaters can function at a temperature of up to 1400°F. In the case of high-temperature applications of more than 1000°F, Incoloy sheathes are provided for better durability and heat transfer.
